Your Feedback is needed on the
NDOM Vacation Getaway Weekend
Check out the websites below for the Massanutten Resort to find out all the amenities and activities you and your family can experience and enjoy. This vacation getaway will allow your family to experience both the beauty of the mountains and the refreshment of water at the same time. There is an indoor and outdoor water park on the grounds as well as mountain site seeing, golfing, games, food, shopping, and more…
Our goal is to get at least 20 families to join us on this NDOM Vacation Getaway. Projected cost is $310 plus meals for a family of 4. Add an additional $25 for each person over 4 to get your family’s investment price. This total includes lodging and tickets into the water park. Once we are aware of interest, we can obtain official cost.
What are your thoughts of this resort? Would your family have an interest in joining us? We need to hear from you. We would like to finalize the plans for our Vacation Getaway before February 7, to allow time to prepare and save for this much needed time of relaxation, fun, and fellowship. It's a beautiful place, how much deposit and how many nights?

Deposit would be first night of hotel which is $100. 2nd Payment would be for the number of tickets needed to waterpark. ($25 per ticket). 3rd payment would be for the 2nd night of hotel stay $100. Trip is for 2 nights - Friday & Saturday nights... returning on Sunday.

To answer ur questions about non-NDOM members, I dont see a problem at all with having other families fellowship with us.

Price only includes hotel and waterpark admissions. It is more cost effective to carpool and plan individual travel accommodations because of schedules and budgets. I also did not include food because some peoples budget may require them to bring some of their food while others may have more flexibility. I wanted to keep the base line price as "doable" as possible. Once we confirm interest, we can better fine tune some of those details.

It is a beautiful place with lots to do. I like to make another suggestion, what about Great Wolf Lodge in Concord NC information can be found on their website.

Awesome Idea Ms. Essie - I had never heard of Great Wolf. I did check out their website and called about group rates. I was told to call back on tomorrow after 9. NDOM family- please check out www.greatwolf.com and tell me what you think. We need to hear from you.

I have never been, but I have heard wonderful things about the resort. To answer ur questions about non-NDOM members, I dont see a problem at all with having other families fellowship with us.

My family went and we enjoyed it.they made snow for us to ski on the slopes.T The children really enjoyed seeing how the snow was made.

Has anyone checked out Great Wolf? Ideally - we would like to have a plan finalized to present to the church by the second Sunday of February - with first payment (of where ever we decide) due the first week of March with subsequent payments for April and May. This allows "spending, traveling, and food $" to be saved in June, July, and August without putting any pressure on the congregation. Please help spread the word and have other members check out the sight and reply. Thanks a million!

The great wolf log is a wonderful place its just more expensive then the other place. When we went I do not remember seeing anything outside, everything was on the inside..but a nice place for inside people. Just about anything that you needed was inside the building.

Wow,both areas very interesting,however I feel myself leaning towards Great Wolf.There seems to be a lot to do at both places.I've never visited either of the two,and I know that which ever one we choose,would make for a great get-a-way.Keep me posted.

The weekend is scheduled for Aug 28-30. The resort hasn't been determined as of yet. There is a toss up between Great Wolfe and Massanutten. The travel time for both is about 4 hrs. Price is pretty close - so just need to hear from the people.

YOUR ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED: Please place a vote for either Great Wolfe or Massanutten as our NDOM vacation getaway. This way we can let the majority vote make the decision. This way we can present the plan to the congregation, finalize the price, and create a payment plan. Based on the vote on the Blog .... we can move forward. Spread the word so that we will have a vacation location determined by Saturday of this week for presentation on Sunday. Appreciate your help!

I really like both places and me and my family have been to both places.This is my take on it, for the summer Massanutten is the better place to go because it give more to do outside. For the winter the Great Wolf Lodge is better because u can enjoy swimming on the inside. Great Wolf Lodge is only on the inside with water fun only with dinning. Massanutten give a variety of things to do. I really would like for us to go to Massanutten for the summer and maybe in the winter plan a short vacation for Great Wolf Lodge...

Thanks guys for the feedback. We are working with the resort to get the best possible rate for everything. Sheets are available at the Guest and Member services table to get a head count for everyone. On Sunday of this week, We will use those totals to submit back to the hotel to get final pricing. The first payment will not be due until March 14, 2nd payment in April, last payment in May. We are going to take the final total and divide it by 3 to make it as cost effective and smooth as possible. PLEASE PLEASE please encourage your friends who may want to go to get those sheets in. The more the merrier and the more the cheaper
